Courage

A few days before bible study, I had a vision of You walking to my bedside as I was praying. You handed me a sword with a kind gentle smile on your face.

I heard and knew, what You meant.

Courage.

I was praying because I was scared. I didn't know how to control the situation. I couldn't help myself.

Pastor talked about one part of the Chronicles of Narnia during Bible study.

The part where Lucy and the Lion stood aside and watched while Peter fought against the evil forces. Wolves were howling.

Lucy begged the Lion to help her brother. But the Lion said, "He has a sword" and continued watching as Peter fought to victory.

Pastor beckoned us to stand up and fight. Be prince and princesses.

Sometimes God doesn't step in, because it is through the fights and struggles in our lives, that we become prince and princesses for God.

The Lord equips me with a sword. He will not allow the flames to consume my being. He gives me all I need to fight. I know that I can draw strength from Him.

Perhaps I do not understand what this victory is, but i know i will eventually.

Nude Matte Lipstick

I bought this Matte lipstick by NYC today

- from school, at only $10.

Its amazing what gorgeous deals a step away from my lecture halls has to offer.

There were tons of Elf makeup, bronzing powder in particular, which caught my eye. And then i remembered that I have a M.A.C. mineralize skinfinish bronzer that I haven't touched, so i restrained my shopaholic self.



I bought the NUDE color.

It was so successfully nude-ish that when i tried it on, I looked like I had a hemoglobin level of 3.

It is about 5 times lighter than my natural lip color, although after awhile, it blended a little better.

Still I looked a little ghostly, especially since I hadn't thoroughly cleansed off the smudged eyeliner around the rims of my eye.

Okay, what a superficial post.

I just thought i could make Weiyu a little bit jealous about my buy. Matte lipsticks are her favorite.

Now, don't cry. Don't.

My hands itched for the camera when this gorgeous Minnie Mouse illustration caught my eye.


Its a gorgeous chocolate tin box and a gift from a really wonderful friend of mine! I can't wait to eat its contents.

I'm in love with it. Only because I think the purple thing is adorable, whatever it is.

My literature review assignment grades came out today, and Thank God I didn't fail.

Life is quite as amazing as my hair. It doesn't look too bad now.

Hi World!

Lately, I've had a surge of hormones, thus experienced feelings of slight emo-ness, which i felt suffocated from.

Actually I have nothing to share except for how awesome I am feeling today.

2 more participants recruited today, and I had Awesome Jap food at Itacho Sushi Restaurant in Ion Orchard, carefully selected to be priced at only $1o++. We chose wisely.

I'm quite surprised at the bill, because I'd eaten top notch Japanese food. Sashimi that's fresh to the bone... and awesome tasting sushis that thoroughly satisfied my palette.

And of course, we were trying to look our best while savoring our sumptuous dinner.



This is grilled salmon sushi, at $0.40 each. It tastes awesome, actually every dish does. We had this for appertizers while we were choosing our food because there is a daily limit for this dish. 4 is allowed per person only.



Time to drool! Fresh to the bone!



They have the best Tamago eggs I have ever eaten. That's also probably because I've only had the cheap ones from Cold storage.



Sushi with cheese. and shrimp. Love the cheese, hate the smell of dried shrimp.

Spicy salmon handroll. Hey, its better than i thought!

I know you can't see the salmon because of the photo effect but, live with it.

Then we decided to go to walk around to look at more street food.

But our mouths itched for more, and we got Yoghurt.

We asked the dude to take a picture for us, but he presented us with this.

We then corrected him, and asked him to take a picture for us, pointing to ourselves.

And he did.

Its a lovely start to a new school term.

I'm just super worried that I cannot hit the required number before the month ends.

Hmm.

You're in this fantasy world of your own, and then suddenly you realize that you're dreaming.

This isn't real.

And you know that at some point, you have to wake up and come back to reality.

Lighten Up, it's New Year's Day.

It's New Year's Day but I'm feeling blue, thanks to the hormones.

And I haven't made my New Year's resolution because I was just lazy and tired, and I procrastinate too much.

I have another interview tomorrow and I'm nervous as usual.

I miss life when we were young and naive.

"Friends Forever!" we used to say that so often to every person we knew as we penned our autographs in our friends' books. It was a trendy thing to do in those days.

I'm glad that we did remain close friends years down the road, hopefully, this shall last forever. :)

My Horrible Hair

I look like tweety bird in this horrible hairdo.

This is the last time I'm ever doing a string cut, or cutting my fringe at Diana's again.

The thought that I'd paid for a rather irreversible damage is quite annoying.

I'm so embarassed I'm gonna clip my hair up for the rest of my life.

Merry Christmas

It's a lazy, rainy afternoon and I'm getting all ready for church, and doing last minute preparation for the gift distribution later.



Loads of people to distribute Christmas presents to. 'Cos I have too many friends.



And because it's such a lazy afternoon, I desperately needed something to perk myself up. What better way than to savor some nice floral tea. Recently, I'd received a series of floral tea as a Christmas gift from a really nice friend and I can't be happier!

Chose peppermint tea for the dopey Me this afternoon, hoping the mint would blow my brain. Unfortunately, it didn't cos my brain is still intact.



Hmm I can't wait to try this. Maybe for tomorrow morning.

My best friend's birthday

Hi, Happy Birthday!

We went to La Nonna at Holland Village to celebrate this personnel's birthday.

I must say, it is a great place for a gathering. Great food, great ambience, and great service! Plus, there is 1 for 1 main course from 12-2.30pm every weekday, if I did not remember wrongly.



To kickstart the sumptuous Italian lunch, they serve nice breaad and plain thin-crust pizza. You can tell that its quite appetizing from the way I munch on mine unglamorously.




Behold, my first try at squid ink pasta. Eelin was talking about it on end so i thought I should be adventurous for one day.

Its great. Really. The taste that is. The look kinda scared me abit. I closed my eyes while savoring it.

The sauce is so black that you can use it to refill your pen.

Wispy's 'curry puff' pizza. Or so, the waiter, with a sense of humor, called it. There's cheeze, ham, and mushroom in this giant pizza.

If you unfold this pizza, it can easily become a face towel.

Its delicious, I must say.

Then they gave us a cute fushcia knife to cut our tiny tiramisu cake that the waiters so kindly treat us to.

TGIF= Thank God I'm female ;)

These dudes tried to be funny. Oh well, they brightened our day.

Then we headed over to The Daily Scoop! If you haven't been to this awesome ice-cream parlour, you must have come from planet Mars.

Lots of awesome flavors for you to choose from. And the junior scoop, which i think is satisfying enough, is only $2.00. The cone inclusive.

And networking to garner support from the management for my research.

Celest's birthday

It's always nice to hang out with my dear graduates again! Yesterday we had a belated birthday celebration for celestine at a rather cool place in vivocity, King Louis, or something like that.

They have a live band and a gorgeous ambience with scenic view of the sea. It's a great place to hangout at an affordable price. Plus for every 2 meals ordered, the third is free.

Good morning

My exams are over and lately, I've been spending alot of money on... I'm not sure what.. cos i can't keep track of it.

This morning i decided to try the caffeine-free tea that I bought from Marks & Spencer.

An infusion of Camomile limeflower & Lavender. As the packing suggests, it has calming effects. It is a big mistake that i drank this in the morning but i was desperate for some floral scent early in the day.

I do love flowers. Very much. And this tea has pretty much satisfied my craving. Sigh.. if only I can have roses to greet me every morning as I enjoy breakfast.


Triple chocolate cereal also from Marks & Spencer. It's a tad bit too sweet for my palette but I enjoyed it anyway.

I'd love to have beef steak and some wine for lunch. But I don't have wine, and my maid has decided on fish from leftovers of Monday's dinner instead.

I'm trying to enjoy life to the best of my ability this week before all hell breaks lose when my research application is approved and my attachment commences.

Now, I'm feeling sleepy thanks to the tea. I'll promise to get the rejuvenating version to accompany my morning breakfast in future.

The shopaholic side of me is back with a vengeance!

This is rather unfortunate because I am out of scholarship, and hence should content myself with living like a pauper.

I have alot of shoes I realize. I always thought I have only a pair of slippers, and another pair of nice versatile wedge for important events to choose from.

But a discovery of a couple of other 6 inch heels in the shoe cupboard proved me wrong.

Oops, ive bought two new pairs of pumps.

And i cannot wait for the next Cotton-On sale because the newest collection is gorgeous, but oh-so-expensive.

Either that, or i should travel down to Australia for the cheap alternative.

Of course, Mum would recommend that I content myself with what I have in my already bursting wardrobe. Not that I am not trying.

Unfortunately, gorgeous Forever21, the new H&M, and my best friend's, weiyu, amazing new wardrobe, fresh from her trip to America has got me wanting more.

More, more, more. As if I can never be satisfied.

Its time to meditate.
