Strictly Pancakes

At Strictly Pancakes cafe, we came... supposedly for a weekend breakfast which ended up being a weekend Brunch because we did not make any reservations and it was just too popular, even at that time of the day for pancakes. It was noon time, at about 1pm.

Thus, we had to wait for one hour. And where else better than Rochor Road Tau Huay Stall which was just down the road. We delighted ourselves meanwhile with some very refreshing treats and had this:

Cold Tau Huay.

And we had surprisingly amazing butterfly fritters. Sweet, crispy, and chunky. Hmm. I never used to like this when i was younger because i had eaten bad, lau feng ones. But this was really good.

Weiyu eating heartily.

Finally we got our long awaited table at Strictly Pancakes. Please learn from this very tough lesson and make reservations before visiting popular cafes.

Nutella Milkshake. Drink it and get yourself an orgasm.

Every pancake comes with a piece of butter of a flavor of your choice and maple syrup. My favorite two flavors are garlic-herb butter, and Rum and raisin butter (good for dessert pancakes).

We shared smoked salmon with pancakes. Looks abit dry here but they have a bowl of mayonnaise with herb to accompany this. It is very good, according to everyone else. Me, the biggest salmon fan, unfortunately did not think it was that fantastic.

THIS IS THE BEST! I will visit the place again for this amazing Garlic-Herb Butter prawns with pancakes. The prawns are fresh, crispy, and (relatively) big. It goes surprisingly well with the pancakes. You get an explosion of crisps, sweetness, buttery and salty taste in your mouth with this dish. Suddenly I think I sound like I am writing a food blog here.

For dessert pancakes, THIS IS pretty WONDERFUL. Its very chocolatey. Its named The Drug for a reason. I will come back for this for high tea!

Then we had fun playing at the lounge area where there were comfy sofas.

Best friends forever :D
