When God Ran

Luke 15:11

The day I left home I knew Id broken His heart
& I wondered then if things could ever b the same
Then one night I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road ahead I could see
It was the only time it was the only time
I ever saw Him run

Was when He ran to me,
He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
said, "My sons come home again",
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes,

With forgiveness in His voice He said,
"son do you know I still love you"?
He caught me by surprise,
As He brought me to my knees,
When God ran, I saw Him run to me

I was so ashamed, all alone and so far away
But now I know Hes been waiting for this day

they say You'll only appreciate what you have... until its gone.

Id taken alot of things that matter very much to me for granted.

Last night, a very lovely person helped me to see this.

while i was walking through life... continually desiring 'greater' things, feeling disappointed and upset when i cant have em, I have failed to rejoice over the things that i have... which are the true deepest desires of my heart.
